Behind the Chain Link Fence
Howdy, seems I've been putting myself
out here in search of friends and acquaintances for years. I started off as an AF Brat,
looking for people stationed at the same bases at the same times as I and have found some
of those and a whole lot more friends who've known me in the past. I'm an AF-Brat -
Hippy - Mother - Wife. My interests are building webpages, PSPing (graphics)
photography, learning new things, gardening, reading, walking, beach combing, music,
travel and chatting with friends.
In my travels as a brat, I had the luck of living in many places that stand out in my
mind. Born in Monterey CA, and living in San Antonio, TX, Wichita, KA, Columbus, OH, Sidi
Slamaine, Morocco, Blytheville AR and of course, Dayton, OH.
For as long as I can remember, growing up in the military, my "hometown" was
behind a 12 ft chain link fence. Sleeping on an Air Base was cool, go to sleep and wake up
with the sound of Jets, life seemed fine and dandy. There was always a sense of duty and
purpose and you knew exactly why you were there. I loved it.
My son and his wife.
Probably because of moving all the time, I love to travel! Here are some excellent places
to go and be seen. Jamaica is wonderful! It's really hot and a wee bit off the beaten
path. But it's interesting to see how another culture exists so close to where we live.
Exists and persists to keep genuineness about themselves. If you go there, you have to try
the native cooked jerk pork. If you get a chance, take a pass on the fish head soup.
Hawaii is excellent also. But keep in mind, it's just an extension of America. I found next
to no pineapples, they were all shipped out, but a lot of native dishes that are all
wonderful to eat. A word of caution ... if you aren't used to dodging waves that try to
sweep you off your feet, keep your eyes opened! Also check out the volcanoes and the
damage and reformation that is going on there. It's gorgeous.
Mexico has a lot to offer too. Rumours of romantic winds that can change your life
forever. Mountains to climb and conquer with the power of your own two legs. With the
right sunglasses, you'll see diamonds on the tips of each and every wave of the ocean.
Look out for the scorpions, they're under the bed.

My son and myself.
If you get the chance you'll love a cruise. Wide open water and clear blue skies clear
your head. Tons of fun and privacy in a small community of people who just want to chill
too. I loved standing on the top deck as the sun set and seeing the huge expanse of water
and no land in sight with this big ball of fire slipping into the cool depths of the
ocean. Loved the pina coladas too!
My adult life started by moving to Canada when I was 17, where I played, worked, married
and had children. I'm living back home now after thirty some years up there. Since coming
back, I've lost both of my parents, remarried and made a home on the east coast. In my
online life I've gathered some Boomer aged friends and we post and chat regularly. We've
had one "real life" gathering and I've made some fantastic friends on the net.
You may know me as Cassieopia.

Here at home, we've
created a bird sanctuary and daily, I sit and contemplate life while I watch the different
birds gather and feed and socialize. So many critters and so many pictures, I'll post some
here.
